Frederick, MD.-On 08/16/2017 at approximately 8:47 pm, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the intersection of North Market Street and 4th Street for a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel located the victim and motorcycle laying in the street. After EMS examined the victim, it was found that he sustained upper body injuries. Even though the victim was wearing a helmet and conscious the entire time, the victim was flown to an area hospital for further treatment. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this time. Since this is an open investigation, the name of the victim is not being released.
This area of North Market Street was shut down for approximately 30 minutes. After the area was cleared, it was opened back up for normal pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
