[ARCHIVED] Street Crimes Unit Arrests Man Wanted for Attempted Murder

Young & Hawkins

The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit was contacted about a subject that was wanted for Attempted 1st Degree Murder and believed to be in Frederick City.

On 07/13/2017, at approximately 10:32 PM, The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit was contacted by the Prince Georges County Sheriffs Office about a subject that they believed was in Frederick City. The PGCSO advised that they received information that Sean Demarco Young was in the area of Buell Dr and that they had 3 active warrants for his arrest. One of the warrants was for Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Detectives with the Street Crimes Unit responded and met with two deputies from the PGCSO.

Through their investigation they believed that Young was hiding inside of 2021 Buell Dr. After several attempts the officers were able to make contact with a resident of that address who was identified as Theodore Hawkins. Upon entering the house officers observed signs that led them to believe that Young had entered the attic space of the townhouse and was hiding from the officers. After approximately 10-15 minutes of trying to communicate with Young he finally responded; however, after responding to the officers he fell from the attic through the ceiling into a closet on the 2nd floor of the townhouse. Officers were then able to take Young into custody without any further incident. Hawkins was also placed under arrest at that time.

While in the residence, officers observed signs that led them to believe that illegal narcotics were inside. A Search & Seizure Warrant was issued for the residence. During the search officers located a large amount of Phencyclidine (PCP), which was consistent with distribution. Also, while searching the townhouse, the other resident Chinique Danielle Morton arrived and was placed under arrest.

All three subjects were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing. Young was served with his 3 active arrest warrants. Hawkins was charged with Harboring a Fugitive, Possession of Phencyclidine, and Possession of Phencyclidine with the Intent to Distribute. Morton was charged with Possession of Phencyclidine and Possession of Phencyclidine with the Intent to Distribute.
