FAKE NEW STORY CIRCULATING ABOUT RABID FOX
FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department would like the community to be aware of a fake news story circulating through social media regarding a rabid fox running around the Rt. 40 (Neighborhood Advisory Council 8) area of the city. The fake news story reports that the fox may have rabies and has bitten at least two people.
The Frederick Police Department has not received any reports of fox sightings or bites in The City of Frederick.
If you suspect that an animal may have rabies please contact Frederick County Animal Control at 301-600-1544. General rabies questions may be directed to the Frederick County Health Department, Environmental Health at 301-600-1717.
