On 3/23/17 at approximately 0110 hours members of the Frederick Police Department responded to 204 Amber Drive (7-11) for a report of an Armed Robbery that had just occurred.  The male entered the 7-11, retrieved a drink from the refrigerator and when the clerk rang him up the suspect brandished a silver handgun and took the money from the register.  Utilizing the surveillance footage Detectives were able to get the description of a white male wearing a black mask covering his mouth and nose, camo colored hoodie, dark colored coat, camo pants and white shoes.  A K-9 track led officers into Amber Meadows where the track stopped on the street.

On 3/23/17 at approximately 2024 hours members of the Frederick Police Department responded to the PNC bank at 1305 West 7th Street for a report of an Armed Robbery.  The suspect, described as a white male in a dark colored jacket with a black mask covering his nose and mouth, approached the victim at the ATM.  The suspect brandished a silver handgun and demanded money.  Utilizing the surveillance footage Detectives were able to confirm that it was the same suspect as the previous two robberies.

On 4/3/17 Det. Irons received camera footage from the red light cameras in the area of Oposumtown Pike.  During his review of the footage he observe a dark colored truck with distinct markings coming and going around the time of the robbery at the 7-11.  He then disseminated this information the members of FPD.

On 04/04/17 plain-clothes officers were in the area and observed a dark colored pickup truck commit a motor vehicle violation.  This vehicle matched the description provided by Det. Irons.  Based on the violation a traffic stop was attempted and the suspect vehicle fled.  Officers were unable to relocate the vehicle.

On 4/5/17 at approximately 0229 hours members of the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of a Burglary at the same Subway located at 177 Thomas Johnson Drive.  In this case, a white male wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue pants and grey, white and black colored shoes, broke the front glass door.  He then entered the store and took the cash register.  Based on the surveillance footage it was determined that this incident occurred at earlier in the evening, and about the same time the Officer attempted to stop the dark colored truck.

On 4/5/17 Detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were able to locate the dark colored pickup truck in the area of the 300 BLK of Heather Ridge Drive.  The registered owner, Sean Shorb, was seen in the area coming and going from his vehicle.  Shorb was identified as the individual that fled from officers the night before.  Shorb was detained and brought back to FPD HQ for questioning.  Members of the Street Crimes Unit secured the house and a Search Warrant was served on Mr. Shorbs’ residence.  Evidence from the above incidents were recovered during the execution of the Search Warrant.
