Detectives from the Frederick Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division worked together to arrest Richard Allan Overs for a January double shooting incident and various drug charges; seize large quantities of CDS and a firearm.
On 3/13/17, detectives with the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section identified Richard Allan Overs, of Frederick, as the shooting suspect in a double shooting on Stonegate Dr on 01/18/2017. An arrest warrant was applied for and obtained in an effort to bring the case to a conclusion.
On 3/22/17, at approximately 2100 hours, Detectives from the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit located and arrested Overs on the open arrest warrant. After taking Overs into custody for the outstanding warrant, Street Crimes Detectives located a significant quantity of suspected marijuana, indicative of sales, on his person. Based on the quantity of marijuana, a search and seizure warrant was served on Overs’ residence, and an additional large quantity of suspected marijuana (2 pounds, 7 ounces), a digital scale, over $2000 and a firearm that is not registered to Overs were located.
Overs was transported to Frederick county Adult Detention Center and is currently being held without bond.
