Frederick Police Promotion, Retirement, and Award Ceremony
The Frederick Police Department held its Promotion, Award, and Retirement Ceremony on Friday March 10th at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center.
“Our Retirement, Promotion and Awards Ceremony provided us the opportunity to salute the men and women of the Frederick Police Department who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, faithfully served the citizens throughout their career or have accepted new leadership responsibilities within the agency.” stated Chief Hargis. “The department also recognized the unselfish contributions of several private citizens who have rendered assistance to our officers and the department.”
The Department is pleased to announce the following promotions and retirement:
PROMOTIONS
Mike Lee to rank of Lieutenant
Rebecca Carrado to rank of Sergeant
Jeff Gunder to rank of Corporal
RETIREMENT
Lieutenant Jason Keckler
Along with the promotions we recognized those who have gone above and beyond and presented them with awards. Officer of the Year was awarded to Cpl. Reed Preece and Tiauna Wood received Employee of the Year. The Department also recognized departmental members for Commendations, Unit Citations, and Life Saving Award as well as several community members for their contributions to the community.
