The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has charged a male and female after committing numerous thefts from vehicles
On 11-13-2016, Officer Mangot and Officer Anderson, of the Frederick Police Department, arrested Bradley Eugene Ambush and Bobbie Lee Vansteinburg after several stolen items linked to thefts from motor vehicles were located in their possession.
During this arrest, several additional electronics were discovered in the possession of Ambush and Vansteinburg that could not initially be tied to specific theft reports. Detective Murphy, of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, was assigned to analyze the additional property and investigate whether it was stolen. During this investigation Detective Murphy was able to locate the owners of a tablet computer and a GPS unit, both of which were in the possession of Vansteinburg and Ambush at the time of their arrest. Once the owners were contacted, it was learned these items were stolen out of their vehicles prior to the arrest of Vansteinburg and Ambush.
During this investigation, it was also learned Ambush sold a stolen GPS unit at a local pawnshop. This GPS unit was confirmed to have been stolen in a theft from motor vehicle on 11-27-2016.
Criminal charges were applied for through the Frederick County District Court Commissioner’s Office, charging Vansteinburg and Ambush with charges related to theft. A criminal summons was issued, and on 11-30-2016, Vansteinburg and Ambush were contacted and served with all necessary charging documents pertaining to these cases.
