The City of Frederick Government Offices Will Be Closed On Memorial Day
Clarification to City Services Below
Frederick, MD – May 20, 2016: The City of Frederick Offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 2016. Offices will reopen at the regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
There will be NO Trash Collection Service on Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. This notice applies to residents that normally set out their trash out on Sunday evening for Monday morning collection. These residents are asked to put their trash out on Monday evening after 5:00 pm for Tuesday collection.
**Please note – The Downtown Commercial District which includes; Market Street from South Street to 7th Street and Patrick Street from East Street to Bentz Street will have trash collection as scheduled.
There will be NO recycling for the Downtown Commercial District. It will resume to the normal schedule on Wednesday, June 1st. This does not affect residential recycling.
There will also be NO Yard Waste Collection for NAC Area 6 on Monday, May 30th. This will be collected on the next scheduled yard waste collection day for the NAC Area 6 which is Monday, June 13th.
Clarification to the schedule is as follows:
• Parking decks and parking meters are free on Monday, May 30th
• The William Talley Recreation Center will be closed Sunday, May 29th and Monday May 30th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
• Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) and the Foodbank will be closed on Monday, May 30th and reopen on Tuesday, May 31st
• The Soup Kitchen located at the FCAA will be open Monday, May 30th serving an evening meal from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. daily.
