On 05/10/2016 at approximately 12:46 PM, Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 26 at Routzans Way for a reported property damage accident involving two vehicles. While en route to the accident location, officers learned the driver from the striking vehicle had continuously rammed her vehicle into the victim’s vehicle in an attempt to push the vehicle into the busy intersection. The suspect driver was able to flee the scene in her vehicle prior to police arrival.

Due to assistance from several witnesses, who recorded the accident on their cell phones, Officers were able to identify both parties. A nearby canvass of the area was conducted and officers located the suspect in her vehicle. The suspect was identified as Carol A Wright. After making contact with Wright, Officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver submitted to several Standard Field Sobriety Tests which she did not pass to the Officer’s satisfaction. Wright was then placed under arrest for DUI and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.

During processing, Wright assaulted two separate Police Officers numerous times by kicking and punching as she continued to yell profanities at them. She was eventually taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for final processing. The officers were uninjured from the assaults.

The suspect full identification and list of charges are as follows:
Carol A Wright (W/F)
DOB 11/16/1969
