The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team arrested a Boonsboro woman for the possession of heroin
On 05-05-2016, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Camp Road and Alternate Route 40, in Frederick City, after observing a traffic violation.
Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle who was identified as, Leah Logan Ballow. While officers were speaking with Ballow they detected the odor of marijuana emanating from within her vehicle. Ballow was subsequently placed under arrest based on the odor.
During a search of the vehicle, one straw containing heroin was located on the driver’s seat where Ballow was seated. During a search of Ballow, a syringe was located on her person.
Ballow was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
