Once a year the City of Frederick’s Department of Public Works clears the sediment from the City’s water mains by opening the fire hydrants and discharging water.

Schedule for May 2016

Frederick MD April 22, 2016 Once a year the City of Frederick’s Department of Public Works clears the sediment from the City’s water mains by opening the fire hydrants and discharging water. During the flushing procedure water may appear cloudy or slightly discolored for a short period of time.

Lines will be flushed according to the following schedule:

May 2, 3, 4, 2016 – 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Seventh Street northward, including Fredericktown Village, Monocacy Village, Spring Valley, Amber Meadows. Route 40, including Hillcrest and Lake Coventry areas.

May 5, 2016 – 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Seventh Street southward, including New Design, Ballenger, Solarex and Bowman Farm Rd to East Street.

May 6, 2016 – midnight to 7:00 am
Completion of the above area, and downtown.

The following areas will be flushing 7:00 am 3:00 pm during the course of May 2 through May 13, 2016: Dearbought, Main Farm, Worman’s Mill, Clover Ridge, North Crossing, Willowbrook Subdivisions, Whittier and Tuscarora areas, Walnut Ridge Subdivision, and Frederick Community College.
