On Thursday 04/21/2016 at approximately 8:41 AM Frederick Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of Key Parkway, Frederick, MD for a reported armed robbery in progress.
Officers located an adult male victim of an attempted armed robbery who was working in the 1400 block of Key Parkway. The suspect had already left the scene as Officers arrived. The Frederick Police Department was aided by Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies and Maryland State Police Troopers who responded to the scene to assist. The victim was not injured as a result of this assault and robbery.
A Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located the suspect on Willowdale Drive. The suspect fled on foot from the Deputy and was not immediately apprehended. Police Officers from all three agencies searched the area surrounding Willowdale Drive for the suspect. Officer Scott Pyon located the suspect in the 100 block of Willowdale Drive and was able to take the suspect into custody after another brief foot chase.
The suspect was identified as a 17 year old teenager from Frederick, MD. The suspect was placed under arrest for the attempted robbery. The suspect is being charged as a juvenile and additional information regarding the juvenile’s identity will not be released.
