Traffic Advisory – 300 Block of East 3rd Street, Water Main Break
Water Service Interruption/ Road Closure

Frederick, MD – April 21, 2016 (7:11 AM) - The residents in the 300 block of East 3rd Street (from East Street to Church Street) will experience an interruption in water service due to a water main break.

In addition, the 300 block of East 3rd Street from East Street to Church Street is closed to all traffic including emergency equipment.

Generally any time there is a disturbance in the water line such as with an emergency water repair, sediment is stirred up. Because of that, once the repair has been completed and the water is turned back on, residents and businesses will need to run their cold water faucet for a few minutes until it clears. [It is safe to drink unless a Media Notice states otherwise.] If your water does not clear after running the cold water, please call the Department of Public Works, 24/7 switchboard at 301-600-1440.

Construction equipment and standard traffic control devices should be expected in this area. Motorists are asked to proceed with caution.

For additional information contact: DPW at 301-600-1440.
