[ARCHIVED] Motor vehicle stop leads to CDS arrest

On 03/18/12 at 1133 hours Officer Kevin Meyer was on routine patrol when he observed MD tag 5AH1291 with a non-functioning brake light. A traffic stop was made on the vehicle in the area of Washington Street. Officer Meyer made contact with the driver and identified him as Warren Nixon by his Maryland Learner’s permit. After the initial contact, Officer Weaver responded with his police K-9 for a scan. The scan was positive for the odor of CDS emanating from the vehicle. Nixon was arrested; during the search of Nixon a quantity or suspected marijuana and crack cocaine were located on his person.
