A call for service for three suspicious persons on Avondale Ct led to a foot chase and the apprehension of one suspect and several items of property.
12-015707: On 03/15/2012 at about 0106 hours, the Frederick Police Department received a call for three suspicious subjects in the area of Avondale Ct and Schaffer Drive. These subjects were wearing all black, carrying two white plastic shopping bags, and circling the area without apparent purpose. Upon an initial sighting by a plain clothes officer on patrol in the area, these subjects hid from view in the darkness, but were soon relocated. The subjects took unprovoked flight, running through back yards and scaling fences, damaging one fence, before one of them ran into an open garage and attempted to hide there. They also dropped the bags in one of these back yards. The subject hiding inside the garage was taken into custody and identified as Bryan Irwin Denny (05/28/1992) from 5005 Aspen Hill Rd in Rockville MD. The other two subjects continued running through yards and were not caught.
Denny was charged with destruction of property for the damages to the fence and two counts of 4th degree burglary for unlawfully entering into the curtilage of two private residences.
Two items of the recovered property were determined by subsequent investigation to belong to Macy's department store in FSK Mall. Other recovered items may have been stolen from vehicles. Anyone who believes their vehicle was entered during the evening of 03/14/2012 or the early morning of 03/15/2012, even if nothing of value is believed to be missing, is encouraged to contact FPD at (301) 600-2102.
