East Street Corridor Small Area Plan Meeting
Presentation and Open House Planned
Frederick, MD – February 24, 2016: The City of Frederick Planning Department is hosting a presentation and open house for the upcoming East Street Corridor Small Area Plan.
The presentation and open house will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Municipal Annex Building located at 140 West Patrick Street in Frederick, MD. Residents, property owners, business owners, and all citizens are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate.
East Frederick is identified in The City of Frederick’s 2010 Comprehensive Plan as an area that is prime for new and redevelopment due to its adjacency to the downtown, access to an improved transportation network and relative availability of land. The purpose of this corridor plan is to further the efforts of East Frederick Rising and the Vision Plan that group has created in cooperation with the City. This Plan is intended to solidify that vision by identifying short and long-term improvements and strategies that develop from discussion with all stakeholders.
This meeting is a follow-up to the community survey and comment map conducted last fall which yielded excellent comments and suggestions. Planning Staff will be providing an overview of the study area, results and trends of the survey and the process forward to adoption of the plan. The presentation will be followed by brainstorming sessions/stations for potential inclusion in the draft plan.
