On 02/20/2016 at approximately 0400 hours detectives from the Frederick Police Department responded to Doc Geiser’s restaurant, located at 50 North McCain Drive for an arson investigation.
Officers arrived immediately at the scene and noted the side of the building was engulfed in flames. Officers then identified a suspect leaving the scene of the incident. Based on witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, the suspect was taken into custody. The investigation further determined the suspect used a liquid accelerant to intentionally start several small fires to the side and rear of the building. The defendant was fully identified as Salvador Cardenas Ramirez, DOB 05/07/1967. Frederick County Fire and Rescue was immediately at the scene of the incident and the fire was extinguished expeditiously.
At this time, it was determined the suspect had an issue with an employee at the restaurant and the suspect had a specific intent to start the fire and the incident was not a random act.
The suspect was transported to Central Booking at this time without incident. This investigation is still on-going and the Frederick Police Department is working with the Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office.
