Local Shelters Open Due to Dangerously Cold Temperatures & Wind Chill Factor
Frederick MD – February 11, 2016 Due to the dangerously cold temperatures and low wind chill factors predicted for this weekend, the following shelters will be open this Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th.
Frederick Rescue Mission’s day shelter will be open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will serve breakfast and a hot lunch. The shelter is located in the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen at 419 West South Street. For more information on The Frederick Rescue Mission Bread of Life Soup Kitchen, please call 301-695-6633.
The Frederick Community Action Agency Soup Kitchen will serve a hot dinner from 5:30 – 6:30 PM daily. The Soup Kitchen is located at 100 South Market Street. For more information, please call 301-600-1650.
The Alan P. Linton Cold Weather Shelter, located at 27 DeGrange Street, will open at 6:30 PM. The overnight shelter is operated by the Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs.
