UPDATE – January 25th @ 3:00 PM - Status of Post Snow Event in City of Frederick
City Snow Emergency Plan Remains in Effect, City Government Closed Tuesday, January 26th, Parking Decks Open for Free Parking until 6:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27th
Frederick, MD – January 25, 2016 @ 3:00 PM: Due to weather related conditions, the City Snow Emergency Plan will remain in effect until further notice. All five City parking garages will remain open for free parking until 6:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27th.
In addition, City Government Offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 26th.
January 25, 2016: 11:00 AM - Due to the recent snow event All Trash/Yard Waste Collection Services have been suspended until Monday, February 1, 2016.
The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, February 1, 2016.
(For Monday, February 1st collection, pleased set out Sunday, January 31st after 5:00pm and before 12:00 Midnight for the Monday Collection)

If your street hasn't been plowed yet, DPW Snow Crews ask you NOT to dig your car out yet.
The City Snow Emergency Plan remains in effect at this time.
Please use extreme caution on exit ramps especially on left and right turn lanes that are blocked with high banks of snow.
As you walk by buildings and under overpasses please be aware of falling and breaking ice cycles overhead, and exercise caution.
In a team effort to expedite the snow clearing process, Mayor McClement asks residents to please clear snow from around fire hydrants, street corners that are handicap accessible and storm drains to prevent flooding and ice formation on City streets.
The DPW Snow Team crews are working diligently and will continue to push snow overnight clearing all areas as quickly as possible. The City of Frederick thank you for your patience as we work together through this historic snow fall.

Please be aware of possible down trees and power lines. Report downed and low hanging power lines by calling 1.800.686.0011 and do not attempt to cross over or under the lines. Report downed trees by calling 301.600.1440.
