MEDIA RELEASE
The City of Frederick Ask Citizens to Stay Off City Streets
Frederick, MD – January 23, 2016: For your safety and the safety of the City Snow Team, The City of Frederick is asking all citizens to stay off the streets.
Due to the low temperature and high winds, the safest place to be is inside. Visibility is hampered by the blowing snow making it difficult for motorists and pedestrians to navigate. This can hamper the efforts of the City Snow Team as they work to clear streets.
The City of Frederick Snow Team is working diligently around the clock to keep Snow Emergency routes and other roads open for emergency purposes.
The City of Frederick appreciates your patience during this historic snow event. The safety, health and welfare of citizens is our main concern.
For road conditions, call 1-800-327-3125, monitor your local media outlets, or go to www.marylandroads.com for current conditions.
Please be aware of possible down trees and power lines. Report downed and low hanging power lines by calling 1.800.686.0011 and do not attempt to cross over or under the lines. Report downed trees by calling 301.600.1440.
