The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has charged three juveniles who burglarized the Waverley Elementary School
On 12-29-2015, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the Waverley Elementary School, located at 201 Waverley Drive, in reference to a destruction of property call for service.
Through the initial investigation, it was found the suspects spray painted graffiti on several exterior walls, doors and windows. This case was assigned to Investigator Michael Murphy, of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team, for follow-up and investigation. Through this investigation, video surveillance of the incident was obtained, showing that three suspects made entry into the school while it was closed. The three suspects stole spray paint from within, and then proceeded to vandalize the rear exterior walls, doors and windows of the school.
Through the video surveillance footage of the incident, and other information obtained throughout the case, the suspects were positively identified as three juvenile males. All three juveniles were charged in reference to this incident; however, their information is being withheld due to their age.
