The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has arrested a male on theft and credit card related charges
On 11/28/2015, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a theft from motor vehicle that occurred at Glory Days, located at 1305 West 7th Street, in Frederick City.
Through the initial investigation, it was found that the victim’s vehicle was broken into and a purse was stolen from inside the vehicle. Inside of the purse were several credit cards belonging to the victim. As officers were taking the report, the victim advised that three of the stolen credit cards were being used at a nearby business. Officers arrived at the business and were able to develop a suspect description through video surveillance.
Officer Justin Thomas was assigned as the lead investigator in the case and determined that the credit cards had been used at various other locations. Officer Thomas obtained the video surveillance from the other businesses in which transactions were made by the suspect. Through Officer Thomas’ investigation, he was able to identify the suspect as, Damon Ray Albert.
Criminal charges were applied for through the Frederick County District Court Commissioner’s Office, charging Albert with charges related to theft and credit card fraud. An arrest warrant was issued, and on 01/20/2016, Officer Thomas located Albert and arrested Albert without incident.
