MEDIA ADVISORY:
Landfill Facilities to be Closed on Saturday, January 23, 2016 due to Winter Storm
Due to the current forecast for a severe winter storm, the Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) facilities at 9031 Reichs Ford Road will be closed on Saturday, January 23, 2016. This closure is for all facilities at this location, including the administrative offices, landfill, transfer station, yard waste collection area and recycling drop-off center.
Normal landfill business hours and operations will resume on Monday, January 25, with the DSWM site open from 7a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
For curbside recycling, please be aware that weather conditions may cause some streets to still be inaccessible for collection trucks next week; drivers will attempt to collect recyclables wherever possible. If road conditions prevent recycling collection along a particular street, residents are asked to leave their carts out until the next day, as drivers will attempt to collect again.
