Police Investigating early morning shooting on W. South St. in Frederick, Maryland.
At approximately 0200 hours, officers were called to the area of the 100 and 200 blocks of W. South St. for reports of shots being fired in the area. As officers responded to the area other calls came in about a man in the 1st block of S. Market St who was saying he had been shot. Officers located the man in the 1st block of S. Market St. and discovered he had sustained a gun shot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Maryland State Police Hanger at the airport and them flown by Trooper 3 to the R. Adams Cauley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Maryland.
As of the time of this press release the victim is being treated, no suspects or motive for the shooting have been developed and Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division are actively investigating the case.
