On today's date the Suntrust Bank at 2 N Market St was robbed. Due to the work of Patrol officers and detectives the suspect was quickly identified and later arrested near his home in Frederick
On today's date at approximately 1226 pm, the Frederick Police Department responded to a robbery in progress at the Suntrust Bank located at 2 North Market St. Initial investigation revealed a subject entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect was described as white male approximately 6' to 6' 3", thin build, wearing a blue Notre Dame shirt over a grey hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans. After taking a sum of currency (undisclosed) he fled the scene on foot headed east East Patrick St.
A suspect was quickly developed and later identified by witnesses as Andrew Schultz of Frederick. All surrounding agencies were notified of the event and a look out was published for the suspect. The Frederick Police Department and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office worked in cooperation to locate the suspect near his home, approximately 2 and half hours after the robbery, where he was taken into custody.
Mr Schultz will be held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center pending a bond review by a Frederick County District Court Commissioner. At the time of this release Schultz has not been processed through Central booking, therefore a photograph is not available.
