On November 6, 2015 around 0100 hours Officer Borns was dispatched to a theft which had just occurred at a business in the 1000 block of Key Parkway. The victim advised Frederick Police Dispatch that a female stole her wallet and left driving a red sedan. While Officer Borns was enroute to contact the victim of the theft he observed a red vehicle parked in a parking lot in the area of Baughmans Lane and West Patrick Street. Officer Borns noticed the vehicle had front end damage and the dome light was illuminated. He made contact with the occupant of the vehicle. The occupant was identified as Sara Lynn Eyler W/F. During the course of the investigation Officers were able to determine she was the suspect in the theft and was involved in a hit and run property damage accident while intoxicated. The victim’s property, to include a state issued driver’s license belonging to the victim, was recovered from inside Eyler’s vehicle.
Eyler was placed under arrest by Officer Borns. While Officer Borns collected additional information from witnesses Eyler was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. While in the back of the patrol vehicle Eyler began slamming her head into the door and window. When Officers attempted to stop her from injuring herself she bit one of the Officers in the forearm.
She was transported to Frederick Police Headquarters and eventually processed at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without further incident.
