The Frederick Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies will be kicking off the first annual Cops on Roof Tops next Friday September 25th at Noon. Join them at the Dunkin Donuts on Route 40.

Frederick County Law Enforcement Officers will be participating in Cops on Roof Tops in support of Special Olympics. The event will begin on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 12pm and continue thru Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12pm. Members of the Frederick Police Department, Frederick County Sheriff’s Department, Thurmont Police Department, Brunswick Police Department, and the Maryland State Police will be on the roof of the Dunkin Donuts located at 1296 West Patrick Street, Frederick Maryland to raise both awareness and funds to support the outstanding work of the Special Olympics in Maryland.
This event began in Illinois in 2009 by a group of Law Enforcement Officers. These Officers took to the roof tops at over 94 Dunkin Donuts locations across the state and raised more than $182, 000. Twenty-nine years ago, the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics came to Maryland. Since 1986, dedicated law enforcement officers from every corner of our state have worked tirelessly year-round, volunteering, creating awareness and raising money for Special Olympics Maryland through many different special events including Polar Bear Plunges, Dunks, Cops on Roof Tops, Tip-a-Cops, Golf Tournaments, 5K’s, 10K’s and many more special events
The Special Olympics provides life changing benefits to both the athletes who participate in Olympic events and the athlete’s family. Please come out and donate to this life changing event.
