This is an update to the press release issued regarding the arrest of Eric Paul Funk. Attached is a photograph of Funk. After being taken before the District Court Commissioner, Funk was held on no bond. Funk subsequently attended a bond review on 2/28/12 and was also given no bond.
Incident Information:
During the early morning hours of 02/27/12, officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to an address in the 200 block of Dill Avenue for an attempted burglary and violation of an ex parte protective order. The victim was contacted, and she stated the suspect left prior to police arrival. The suspect was identified as, Eric Paul Funk. The investigation revealed damage was done to the residence and visible injuries were seen on the victim’s body by responding officers. Officers confirmed the victim was a protected person in the protective order from Funk.
Later that same day, it was discovered that Funk forced his way into a residence on Rockwell Terrace. He was found inside the vacant residence by officers and was taken into custody without incident. Funk was taken to FCADC and charged with:
• 3 counts violation of ex parte protective order
• 2 counts 2nd Degree Assault
• 1st and 4th Degree Burglary
• Malicious Destruction of Property
