National Night Out celebration to kick off on August 4th at 6:00 pm...
The Frederick Police Department is encouraging residents to leave their homes and come outside to celebrate National Night Out with us. National Night Out is being held on Tuesday, August 4th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Hill Street Park, Mullinix Park, Carrollton Park, and in the Lucas Village community.
National Night Out was designed to promote community-police partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity. Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 16,100 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. Just under 38 million people participated in National Night Out last year.
This year the Frederick Police Department along with our community partners will be holding National Night Out in four locations throughout the city:
• Lucas Village Community – area of the Skate Park at 26 South
Wisner Street
• Mullinix Park - located on South Bentz Street
• Carrollton Park – located at 455 Center Street
• Hill Street Park – located at 100 Hill Street
There will be demonstrations and activities scheduled for the entire family at each location. Residents are encouraged to come out and show their support for their community, policing and coordinated anti-crime efforts. If any organizations would like to participate please contact SGT Joseph Simmons at (301) 600-1275 or jsimmons@frederickmdpolice.org
