Units from the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division assisted Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division in apprehending a subject wanted for murder.
In the early morning hours of 07/03/2015 the Frederick Police Department received a call from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in locating a suspect in a homicide investigation. According to the BCSO the victim was assaulted by James Love and it is believed she died as a result of those injuries. The BCSO received information that led them to believe the suspect was in a hotel room at the Motel 6 on West Patrick Street. Officers responded and were able to determine the suspect was staying in a room at this location. At approximately 0515 hours the suspect was arrested without incident as he was leaving the motel room.
At this time the suspect, identified as James Christopher Love, has been charged as a Fugitive from Justice in West Virginia on an arrest warrant through Berkeley County, WV and is awaiting an extradition hearing at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
