Frederick Ranks 32 of “Top 100 Best Places to Live”!
Frederick, MD – June 15, 2015: Livability.com named The City of Frederick one of the “Top 100 Best Places to Live” for 2015. Frederick ranked number 32 out of 2,000 small to mid-size cities in the U.S., placing it in the top 5% of livable communities in the country. This is the second year in a row Frederick has made the list.
“People can find just about anything they are looking for in a community here,” said Mayor Randy McClement. “Our City staff and elected officials are very conscientious about making sure Frederick is a desirable community for everyone. We work hard to meet the needs of citizens, businesses and visitors.”
According to Livability.com, Frederick offers a “successful blend of history and innovation.”
“We’ve got a real living, breathing, working historic downtown, not just a museum piece,” said Richard Griffin, Director of Economic Development for The City of Frederick.
The rankings were a result of a weighted sum of 8 components: entertainment, economy, community, schools, food & drink, health, real estate, and transportation.
