[ARCHIVED] Frederick Police Determine Death investigation to be a Homicide (CID)

The Death investigation in the 400 Block of Heather ridge Drive is determined to be a homicide.

UPDATE:

The victim, identified as Gloria Watson (DOB; 09/12/62: 52 year old female), was found dead in her apartment at 4:36 pm on 6/3/2015. Ms Watson has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, in Baltimore, for an autopsy. The autopsy will be completed today and an official report will be provided to the Fredrick Police Department at a later date, providing the official findings determining a cause and manner of death.

Preliminary investigation, detectives have determined that Ms Watson died as a result of an assault that occurred inside the residence.

The investigation is ongoing and we are asking anyone with information to please contact the lead detective, Detective Jorge Garcia at 301-600-1247.

On June 7, 2015, officers were called to the 400 block of Heather Ridge Drive for a report of an unconscious woman located in her condo. Officers arrived on scene and determined the woman was dead. Officers immediately contacted Detectives from the Frederick Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division to continue the investigation into the cause and manner of Death.

The deceased woman was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, in Baltimore Maryland, for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death. The identify of the woman is not being released pending the notification of family.

This investigation is continuing and additional updates will be available at a later date.
