On 08/04/2014 at approximately 10:06 PM Frederick Police Officers responded to a reported robbery at the Antietam Exxon Station located at 1561 Oppossomtown Pike Frederick, Maryland. As officers arrived on scene they located an adult male employee of the business who had been robbed and assaulted.

This case was assigned to Det. Doug Ames of the Criminal Investigation Division. Det. Ames was able to determine that two suspects had entered the Exxon Station prior to the robbery occurring. These suspects were seen on video surveillance in the store and later identified to be Alfonzo Ardell Brown and Brandon Christopher Epps.

The investigation revealed that Brown and Epps had purchased an item inside of the Exxon Station prior to attacking and robbing a male employee in one of the service bays. There were no weapons used during this crime. Following the assault and robbery, both Epps and Brown fled from the business toward Taney Avenue. Evidence was collected from the path Epps and Brown traveled as well as from items left on the scene of the robbery that linked Epps and Brown to the robbery.

On 05/12/2015 Det. Ames applied for a statement of charges against Epps and Brown for the robbery at the Antietam Exxon Station. Arrest warrants were issued for both Epps and Brown by the District Court Commissioner charging them with the below crimes.

On 05/15/2015 Detectives located Alfonzo Brown at his residence in the 3300 Block of Littlestown Pike Westminster, MD. Brown was arrested without incident and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
