Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing Schedule
Scheduled for May 11th – 12th -13th
Frederick, MD – April 30, 2015: Once a year the City of Frederick’s Department of Public Works clears the sediment from the City’s water mains by opening the fire hydrants and discharging water.
During the flushing procedure water may appear cloudy or slightly discolored for a short period of time.
Lines will be flushed according to the following schedule:
SECTION (1) - Monday May 11, 2015
Seventh Street northward, including Fredericktown Village, Spring Valley, Amber Meadows. Route 40, including Hillcrest and Lake Coventry areas.
SECTION (2) - Tuesday May 12, 2015
East and West Patrick Street to Baughman’s Lane and everything northward to Seventh Street. Shookstown Road will also be included in this area. Route 40, including Hillcrest and Lake Coventry areas.
SECTION (3) - Wednesday May 13, 2015
East and West Patrick Street and everything southward to the Route 15 interchange.
Whittier, Deerbought, Main Farm, Worman’s Mill, Clover Ridge, North Crossing, and Willow Brooke Subdivisions – These areas will be flushed during the day and evening between Monday, May 11th and Wednesday, May 13th:
Downtown area will be flushed on Wednesday, May 13th during the day.
All other areas will be done in the evenings.
