Key103 Great Frederick Bath Tub Race Registration Opens with Complimentary Tubs for All Participants

Resurrected in 2011 by FACKA Sports, the KEY103 Great Frederick Bath Tub Races return once again to Culler Lake on Saturday, July 4 during Frederick’s 4th – An Independence Day Celebration from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.

The field is set for 16 teams to compete in 1 versus 1 races along Culler Lake for $1700 in cash and prizes! The first place champion will receive a $1,000 and Race Runners Up will receive $400 courtesy of Celebrate Frederick and Dynamic Automotive. The Best in Show (Most Creative) takes home $200 cash. While the Golden Plunger (First to Sink) dips in for $100 cash.

In 2015, race organizers are excited to announce your $20 team registration fee includes a COMPLIMENTARY tub to aide in construction of your seaworthy vessel. We thank Thomas Sommerville and O’Connor Plumbing & Heating for their generous tub donations to this year’s race!

Register today by downloading an application online at CelebrateFrederick.com All applications submitted will be reviewed in order of date submission and acceptance determined by the Frederick’s 4th Bathtub Race Sub-Committee. Your ‘race craft” may be constructed of any material but it MUST INCLUDE a bathtub. The completed race craft must not exceed 6 ft. in width by 8 ft. in length. Additional flotation or additions to the bath are allowed as long as they are not taken from part of any purpose built marine craft. Craft can ONLY be propelled by human means. Sails or motors are not permitted. It is recommended your race craft be built to be carried short distances (i.e. starting slot to lake). All family friendly themes and decorations are welcomed and encouraged but not required for participation.
