JUNE 21
Band Influence Blues Band featuring Mary Shaver, Blues

Bad Influence, the premier Washington, DC band, has been playing their style of blues-infused, high energy music since 1988.

Ever-growing crowds turn out for the band's scorching hot and sinfully addicting shows, which are charged with a masterful blend of sensuously rough edges wrapped in soulful smoothness, riveting rock currents and potent shots of swing and American roots music. All this is signed, sealed and delivered in a suggestive, in-your-face style guaranteed to captivate even the most stoic of mind, body and spirit.

The award-winning Bad Influence features Bob Mallardi on bass and vocals, Hohner endorsed artist Roger Edsall on harp and vocals, Epiphone endorsed artist Michael "Jr" Tash on guitar and vocals, and Sonor endorsed artist David Thaler on the drums.

Bad Influence has invited blues artist, Mary Shaver to join them for their series performance. JULY 12
The Get Right Band, Funk Rock Reggae

One of Relix Magazine’s “On The Verge” picks, THE GET RIGHT BAND is “hip-shaking, earthquaking pure funk fun” (The Alternate Root). Combining catchy, clever songwriting with musical expertise and fearless improvisation, the live show promises to make you shake everything you’ve got. From funk to rock n’ roll to reggae, this is a dance party.

The band is built on the musical brotherhood that guitarist/vocalist Silas Durocher and bassist Jesse Gentry have formed playing music together since middle school. Durocher, who is a trained composer and has been commissioned to write for symphonies and chamber groups, possesses guitar chops that can soothe or rage and a charismatic swagger as a frontman and a singer. “Durocher has an impressive range and rich clarity to his vocals—think a more soulful Dan Auerbach,” writes Connect Savannah. Gentry’s virtuosic bass playing “catapults from elastic to nasty” (The Mountain Xpress). With the addition of Jian-Claude Mears, a powerful and dynamic drummer, the group’s sound has become an unstoppable force.

JULY 19

As a teen Brown learned guitar by jamming with other local talent and musicians. In 1992 Brown took the leap and formed his own band, Bushmaster. The band's funky, guitar-centric, blues-rock music enlightens as well as entertains. You can hear the influence of such artists as Funkadelic, and Jimi Hendrix among others in their music.
