The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has charged a man who committed a burglary in order to steal a power tool and copper wiring from a Frederick business
On 03-13-2015, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a burglary at the C Edward Winpigler Inc., located at 300 E 4th Street, in Frederick City.
Through the initial investigation, it was found the suspect entered a secured area to the rear of the business and stole copper wiring and a power tool. A day earlier from this incident, on 03-12-2015, patrol officers responded to the 100 block of E 3rd Street, in Frederick City, in reference to a residential burglary where copper wiring and piping were cut and torn from a residence under renovation.
The above cases were assigned to Investigator Michael Murphy, of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team, for follow-up and investigation. Through the investigation, Investigator Murphy was able to identify a suspect in both cases, and identify these crimes as part of a larger series occurring in Frederick City. Through multiple interviews conducted, information gathered and evidence collected, Investigator Murphy positively identified the suspect as, Brian Allen Crawford.
Criminal charges were applied for through the Frederick County District Court Commissioner’s Office, charging Crawford with charges related to burglary and theft. An arrest warrant was issued in reference to this incident. On 04-20-2015, Crawford was arrested and served with a copy of the warrant.
