A North Carolina man was extradited back to Maryland March 30, 2015 on burglary charges...
On 11/12/2012 @ approximately 7:41 AM the Frederick Police Department received a complaint of a commercial burglary which had occurred at the Free State Auto Repair located at 2 Degrange Street Frederick, MD.
The initial investigation showed that a suspect had broken a window to the business to gain entry and steal items from within the business. The crime scene was processed by a Frederick Police Department Crime Scene Tech. Det. Alston was assigned at the lead investigator in this case.
Through the follow-up investigation completed by Det. Alston, a suspect, Rodney Sanders, was identified by DNA evidence left inside of the business. That evidence later linked Rodney Sanders to the crime. On 04/02/2014 Det. Alston applied for a statement of charges in this case. The District Court Commissioner issued an arrest warrant for Sanders on 04/02/2014 charging Sanders with the below listed offenses.
On 01/19/2015 Sanders was arrested by the Raleigh North Carolina Police Department. This warrant was held as a detainer for Sanders upon his release on charges placed against him in North Carolina. Sanders was extradited back to Frederick Maryland on 03/30/2015. The arrest warrant was served on Sanders at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on 03/30/2015 @ 1530 hours.
As of this release Sanders is incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on a $75,000 bond on this case.
