Celebrate Earth Hour
Star Party in Baker Park!
Frederick, MD – March 23, 2015: In its seventh year of celebrating Earth Hour, City Hall will go dark for two hours (7:30 – 9:30 PM) on Saturday, March 28th. Earth Hour, an international lights-out event, is celebrated yearly to raise awareness about climate change. Residents and businesses are encouraged to join in the event by turning out unnecessary lighting from 7:30 – 9:30 PM.
In addition to the lights out event at City Hall, TriState Astronomers, along with The City of Frederick Green Initiatives Team, will aim telescopes at the night sky for a Star Party from 7:15 to 9:30 PM. Those interested in attending the Star Party are asked to meet at City Hall by the fountain on Saturday, March 28 at 7:15 PM. Star gazers will walk as a group to the designated Star Party area in Baker Park. City Hall is located at 101 North Court Street. Bring a chair or blanket. This family fun event is free and open to the public.
