Bell & History Day Bike Ride
Saturday, April 11th
Frederick, MD – March 19, 2015: If you like bike rides and enjoy going places for free, then The City of Frederick’s Green Initiative Team (GIT) and The Bicycle Escape have planned the perfect Saturday morning for you.
To coincide with Bell and History Days, an easy 8-mile bike ride will take you to three of Frederick’s most treasured museums. After leaving the Visitor’s Center and cycling through Carrol Creek Linear Park, cyclists will stop at Schifferstadt Architectural Museum, look in on the Frederick County History Museum and spend some time at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Admission to every museum and historic site is free.
Riders are asked to meet at the Frederick Visitors Center, 151 S. East Street on Saturday, April 11th at 9:45 AM. Each cyclist will have a turn to ring the big bell outside of the Visitor’s Center to announce the official opening of the 2015 museum season before the ride begins.
Don’t have a bike? Call The Bicycle Escape at 301-663-0007 to reserve a rental bike. A full line of bikes will also be on hand (first come, first serve) at the Visitor’s Center the day of the ride.
