FREDERICK POLICE - MEDIA RELEASE

FPD Mobile App Now Available
March 10, 2015 Frederick, MD - In an attempt to further our Community Policing initiatives and remain consistent in our communication to the citizens of The City of Frederick, the Frederick Police Department (FPD) announces the release of a new phone app. The new FPD app is now available on both Apple and Android devices by searching “Frederick Police Department”.
The new application has many features designed to enhance the ability of the FPD to communicate information to our residents and visitors. The app also allows the user to send messages to the FPD, either anonymously or with the senders contact information, on topics like crime tips, graffiti tips and drug tips. The user can send the tip to the FPD and include a photo from their phone if applicable.
Our desire is to further our ability to distribute and receive information from our residents. The application has a "Most Wanted" tab which allows the user to browse our “Frederick’s Most Wanted” individuals and send in tips on their possible locations. Other features allow residents to commend officers for positive contacts and communicate directly to employees through a “Contact” tab which contains all of the FPD’s employee contact information (both voice mail and email).
We are proud to have partnered with Cloudspace Mobile, located in California, to develop and launch this new app. Cloudspace Mobile sponsored the design and creation of the app for the Frederick Police Department, thus costing The City of Frederick $0.
