RESIDENTIAL ADVISORY:
CURBSIDE RECYCLING CONTINUES TO BE AFFECTED BY WINTER STORM
The Department of Solid Waste Management reminds residents that there was no curbside residential recycling on Thursday March 5, so the collection schedule has shifted one day later than usual for the remainder of the week. Regions affected include the City of Frederick, Green Valley, Ijamsville, Kemptown, Urbana, Monrovia and surrounding areas. These residents are being asked to note the following circumstances:
• Curbside recycling collection began later than usual on Friday, March 6. Due to this, collection will run later into the evening than a typical collection day.
• Some streets may still be inaccessible by collection vehicles; residents are asked to leave their carts curbside, as crews will attempt to empty them the following day.
• To allow for additional collection time, recycling pick-ups will begin early on Saturday, March 7; carts must be at the curb by 5am.
• For information on the status of your street’s recycling service, please call the collection contractor, Allied Waste, at 301-694-6498.
Further information and updates on the status of the curbside recycling collection can be obtained by visiting the Department of Solid Waste Management’s website at: www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/recycle, or by visiting the Department’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/FrederickRecycles. Additionally, the MyWaste mobile app keeps users informed of recycling schedule changes, and may be downloaded for free from www.my-waste.mobi/FrederickMD.
