Frederick Foodbank in Need of Donations
Non-Perishable Foods

Frederick, MD – March 2, 2015: The Frederick Foodbank, operated by the Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA), is desperately in need of donations of non-perishable food items, especially pastas, rice, spaghetti or tomato sauce, cereal, canned fish like tuna, peanut butter, and canned meats. The Frederick Foodbank provides a 3- to 5-day supply of food to needy families that are experiencing a financial crisis and cannot afford their groceries. The Frederick Foodbank serves 600 to 800 families each month. The Frederick Foodbank is located at 14 East All Saints Street, Frederick and donations should be delivered to the loading dock on the side of the building. All donations are tax-deductible and monetary donations are also accepted.

Donations of food have decreased significantly this winter, while the demand for food has actually increased. Conducting a food drive at your work, in your neighborhood, or through a religious or civic institution is a great way to support the Frederick Foodbank and to help families that are struggling to make ends meet.

Through a wide array of programs and services, the FCAA provides food, shelter, medical care, housing and other forms of assistance to families and individuals who are low-income or homeless. Established in 1968, the FCAA is sponsored by the City of Frederick and the Friends for Neighborhood Progress, Inc. with support from the Frederick County Government.
