City Seeks to Fill Vacancy on Green Initiative Team
Frederick, MD - January 30, 2015: The Green Initiative Team (GIT) is gearing up for spring and is currently seeking a City resident to serve on this committee.
The role of the Green Initiative Team (GIT) is to lead and coordinate the sustainability activities of the community through the Sustainable Maryland Certified Program. Using best practices in resource areas like water, energy, land use, health, food, and economy, a municipality can earn points toward sustainability certification.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen adopted Resolution 11-17 in support of the Sustainable Maryland Certified program. The Sustainable Maryland Certified Program web site is: http://www.sustainablemaryland.com/index.php
Interested individuals should be City residents. Individuals who have experience in the green energy or transportation, food and nutrition, green building design or other sustainable practices are encouraged to apply.
