The Frederick Police Department arrested a male after he brandished a knife on a police officer during a field contact.
On 12/10/14 at 2348 Hrs OFC Randy Lawson of the Frederick Police Department was en-route to a call for service when he noticed an individual, later identified as Jose Molina-Valasquez, walking in the area of Key Parkway and Waverly Drive. Molina-Valasquez was openly carrying a knife in his hand. This prompted OFC Lawson to make contact. Upon contact Molina-Valasquez raised the knife toward OFC Lawson and took a step toward the officer. OFC Lawson drew his weapon and ordered Molina-Valasquez to drop the knife. Molina-Valasquez complied with OFC Lawson's direction.
Molina-Valasquez was placed under arrest for reckless endangerment and disorderly intoxication. He was searched and transported to central booking for processing without incident.
