On 12/10/2014 at approximately 8:30 pm the Frederick Police Department arrested two juveniles who were committing thefts from motor vehicles in the area of 1301 W. Patrick St.
On 12/11/2014 at approximately 8:30 pm the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of two individuals tampering with parked vehicles in the area of 1301 W. Patrick St. Security personnel from the Boscov's department store employed exterior video surveillance in order to locate the criminal activity. Responding officers were able to locate and detain 2 individuals matching the description provided. Through additional investigation and coordination with Boscov's security officers were able to determine the individuals detained were ones tampering with and stealing from vehicles in the parking lot. Both individuals were arrested and searched. During the search stolen property was located. The names of the individuals arrested are being withheld due them being juveniles.
The Frederick Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind the citizens of Frederick to take the following precautions to prevent becoming a victim of this type of crime and catch the people responsible.
Lock your car doors at all times
Ensure your windows are completely rolled up
Remove valuables from the vehicle when left unattended
Park in well lighted areas if possible
Consider installing an alarm system and use it faithfully
Report all suspicious activity to the police immediately
