[ARCHIVED] Tobacco Compliance Checks conducted

On December 3rd, the Frederick Police Department conducted Tobacco Compliance Checks of establishments selling Tobacco products within the City of Frederick. This is the first round of compliance checks within the City of Frederick.

Frederick Police Officers, with the help of underage volunteers, were able to check 27 businesses for compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to minors. The Frederick Police Department would like to thank the following business establishments for their compliance with state laws:
- Joey’s Express Convenience Store – 430 E. Patrick Street
- Liberty Gas – 826 E. Patrick Street
- Plus Mart – 1202 E. Patrick Street
- Sheetz – 1300 E. Patrick Street
- Sunshine Liquors – 701 Motter Ave.
- Safeway – 927 W. 7th Street
- Ye Old Spirit Shop – 1005 W. 7th Street
- 3-Star Liquors – 1305 West 7th Street
- GetGo – 1391 West 7th Street
- GetGo – 1700 West 7th Street
- A1 Services – 467 W. Patrick Street
- Family Dollar – 467 W. Patrick Street
- Giant Eagle – 1275 W. Patrick Street
- Dollar General – 1275 W. Patrick Street
- Frederick Shell – 1275 W. Patrick Street
- Willowtree Liquors - 5 Willowdale Drive Suite 8.
- DJ Liquors - 1313 West Patrick Street Suite C
- Manantial Grocery – 50 N. McCain Drive
- Golden Mile Liquors – 50 North McCain Drive #105
- Waverley Beer & Wine – 45 A Waverley Drive
- La Chiquita Grocery – 1425 W. Patrick Street
- 7-11 – 1501 W. Patrick Street


The following establishments did not comply with the law and offenders were issued citations:

- One Stop Food Mart – 1111 E. Patrick Street
- B P Tollhouse – 503 W. 7th Street
- Rite-Aid – 1000 Key Parkway
- Washingtonian Express – 1395 W. Patrick Street
- Estrella Market – 1507 W. Patrick Street

This operation was funded by a grant from the Cigarette Restitution Fund that is administered by the Frederick County Health Department, Substance Abuse Prevention Services. Merchant training is available to help in complying with the law and employee training.
