On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, the Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) will host an Open House and Resource Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 100 South Market Street, Frederick.

Frederick, Maryland – On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, the Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) will host an Open House and Resource Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 100 South Market Street, Frederick. The FCAA Open House and Resource Fair will feature agency displays, provider presentations, demonstrations of the ServicePoint Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and tours of the FCAA. The event is free and open to the public and provides an opportunity to learn about available resources to address homelessness, local affordable housing programs, and volunteer opportunities. A free luncheon and other refreshments will be served.

Human service agencies and housing providers that have been invited to participate in the Open House and Resource Fair include: Advocates for Homeless Families, Frederick Rescue Mission, Frederick Community Action Agency, Mental Health Management Agency of Frederick County, Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs, Heartly House, Housing Authority of the City of Frederick, Frederick County Department of Housing and Community Development, Way Station, Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership, and Potomac Case Management.

The FCAA Open House and Resource Fair is a local event in recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week (NHHAW) was established by the National Coalition for the Homeless in partnership with the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness. According to the NHHAW website, “National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is held each year the week before Thanksgiving. This is a time for us all to start to think about what we are thankful for, and a perfect time to share our compassion with our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.”
