Patient Transfer to NIH
Frederick, MD – Mayor McClement announced that the State Department, at the request of the CDC and in close cooperation with local, state, and federal health officials, is arranging the medical transport of an American who has been diagnosed with Ebola in Texas to the National Institutes of Health facility in Bethesda. They are making the arrangement through the same air charter service they used to safely transport other Americans with Ebola from Africa.
“This transfer is being handled by experienced professionals who have coordinated the transport of many similar cases without incident,” said McClement. “The safety of our community is of the utmost importance to me and I have been assured that every precaution will be taken to move the patient safely and securely and to provide critical care en route.”
