Celebrate “Car Free Day” on September 22nd
Frederick, MD – On Monday, September 22nd, TransIT Services of Frederick County will observe Car Free Day by providing FREE rides on Connector and Shuttle routes. TransIT will also be set-up at the Transit Center on 100 South East St. from 2:00-4:00pm to distribute free I Ride Frederick t-shirts to passengers (limited quantities available) and will provide more information on the upcoming mobile fare payment app.
Participants that register for this free event at www.carfreemetrodc.org will be eligible to win several prizes including a Kindle Fire. TransIt, in cooperation with Commuter Connections, hopes to sign up 10,000 registrants to put 20,000 feet on the street! Be “car free” for a day by walking, biking, ride a bus, carpooling, working from home
In Fiscal Year 2014, TransIT provided over 830,000 one-way trips to passengers. Join them and do your part to improve the environment – carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, or ride TransIT for FREE on September 22nd. TransIT is also a member of Commuter Connections, a Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments program that assists commuters with carpool and vanpool ridematching and other alternative transportation solutions.
